We are so happy that we have been able to help Danny reach a safe place for what we hope will be a long and exciting life.
Danny the Steer's rescue has been inspiring not only because this red steer is such a lovable character, but because so many total strangers came together to make it happen.
Danny's story started as a bottle-fed calf on a farm in Huffs Church, PA. It took him on a journey where he narrowly escaped slaughter through New Holland Auction to his recent move to a cow rescue in Bangor, PA. It took months and the tireless efforts of many people to make his rescue happen.
Thank you to all who sent notes of encouragement and donated toward his sponsorship at the Lakshmi Cow Sanctuary. Thank you also to the Minnichs for agreeing to temporarily care for Danny, to Frank and his family for donating their time and truck to move Danny and to The Morning Call Paper's Bill White for writing about Danny in his column. Finally, thank you to Dr. Sankar Sastri for agreeing to take this wonderful steer and make him part of his rescue.
