UPDATE: 3/25/17
Diana and Ross were returned to The Cat Shack through not fault of their own.  They have grown up to be beautiful, friendly, sweet cats, and are now available again.  They have always been together since birth and are bonded.

Update 2/142016

Diana and Ross are gorgeous, friendly 9 month old spayed/neutered kittens that have been growing up in foster care waiting for a home.  They have PERFECT litterbox manners, gorgeous markings and sparkling personalities.

What's the hold-up with them getting adopted?  Simply that they tested + for exposure to FIV.  They are FeLV (Feline Leukemia) Negative.  FIV should not be standing in the way of these kittens finding homes and is unlikely to cause them any issues at all.  You can read more about what a + FIV test means at this link:  https://sites.google.com/site/happycatrescueinc/resources/fiv-felv-information

Update 9/11/15 - as of today Diana is 3 1/2 months old.  She has tested Neg for FeLV and is a beautiful kitty!

Siblings, Diana, Ross and Wilson, three 6wk old kittens were resuced by a woman named Shirley who kept them safe in a garage until she contacted The Cat Shack who took them to socialize, vet and find furever homes.

These 3 adorable kittens all tested Feline Leukemia (FeLV) negative.  Wilson also tested FEVL negative.  Diana and Ross tested FIV positive and due to their young age it's likely to simply be due to maternal antibodies and therefore a false +.  They will be retested prior to adoption.  They were re-tested at 6 months and still show FIV+.  Recent studies have indicated that FIV+ cats generally live out a normal life-span and can live with non-aggressive FIV- cats with no problems.

Update: 12/18/15 - Diana has been spayed, is a healthy, active, loving, and beautiful kitty, and is looking for a furever home, preferably along with her brother, Ross.

Another sister, Mary, was rescued a few weeks after Diana, Ross and Wilson, and reunited with her siblings.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
