Update 12/11/05- Silk and Kashmir are now in their new homes!

Update 11/5/05

Silk and Kashmir are ½ Siamese. Their mother was a lynx point Siamese and their father is a mystery. These beautiful cats were born inside a foster home and were raised with dogs and toddlers. They were adopted through the cat shack as kittens and lived with a loving family for 2 years. Sadly, the family was transferred to India recently and they were unable to find a temporary 2-year home for the cats, so they had to be returned to The Cat Shack to be rehomed.

Silk and Kashmir are about 2 and ½ years old. They were born a day apart! We thought their mom was only going to have little Silk, but the day after Silk was born, Kashmir appeared. Silk was born white but soon developed lilac lynx points. Her body color has also darkened over time and she still has a very unusual coloring and fabulous markings. Kashmir was born a classic tabby with the voice and personality of a Siamese. He also has slightly crossed eyes, making him even more adorable.

Both of these cats are VERY friendly and crave attention. Kashmir can almost open doors by turning the knob with his big paws, and he likes to drink by dipping his paw into water and licking it off. Silk is smaller then Kashmir but she rules the roost. She and her brother are very close and bonded, but she is the one that keeps him in line! Silk is very gentle and cuddly while Kashmir is more the rough and tumble playful kitten. Silk will tilt her head sideways like a dog when you speak to her and both cats love laptime. Both cats can “speak” loudly, like a typical Siamese.

These cats are very friendly with dogs and children. Kashmir seems to have acclimated to the other cats in foster care while Silk prefers dogs and her brother to other felines. She now tolerates other cats but she prefers people and her brother.

These beauties are FeLV/FIV neg., altered, vaccinated and very healthy. They are perfectly litterbox trained and use the scratching post.

We are accepting applications for permanent placement for these two cats and request that applicants willing to take both cats and with verifiable previous pet history apply on-line for these two special cats.

Please note :The first step to adoption is to fill out an on -line application.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
