Update 6/11/08- Rafiki is now in the adoption cages at the Petsmart in Whitehall. He has come into the Cat Shack rescue and is up to date on vaccines, tested negative for feLV/FIV, neutered and ready for a new home. Rafiki loves to talk when you pet him and is a real love! He rolls over on his back for a belly rub. Rafiki will now be available through the cat shack rescue.

Original post: This is a courtesy posting for the cat's owner and this will be a direct adoption from the owner and not through the Cat Shack rescue. Please fill out an on-line application and it will be forwarded directly to the owner.

Rafiki, the gray one, is only 2. He is from a litter that my brothers indoor cat had. He is a good cat and is great with other dogs and cats. He is actually best friends with our beagle Molly, he cleans her and snuggles with her, they even wrestle!

My mother has 5 cats. She accumulated them through her kids and never intended to house them all. She lives on 6 acres and all the cats are used to being indoor outdoor cats. She is allergic, and her symptoms have gotten worse. It is very important that I find homes for them. I have found homes for 2 of them, but still need homes for 3 of them. At least 2 of them as soon as possible. They are all very friendly, come by name, and have been neutered or spade. If you think you could help me please let me know. Their ages are 6 yr old (black and white male), 3-5yr old (multi colored female), and 2 yr old (gray male). These are not stray cats or neglected pets, they are very loving, loyal pets , but just cannot stay with us. I do not want to take them to the SPCA because they will end up putting them to sleep.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
