This is what their rescuer had to say about the day these kittens were found: I work for Everlast Plastic Lumber and we receive recycled material from a local recycling facility to process and use in our manufacturing process. The recycling facility is continuously receiving stray cats that people drop off, strays that wonder in due to the food contaminants in the recycled containers, or some are contained in the recycling containers they pickup. A very large box full of recycled plastic came up on a steaming hot trailer and was unloaded in our facility. The next morning staff said that they had quite a surprise just prior to dumping the box of plastic into our large shredder. They walked my husband and I out and inside the box were two tiny black kittens. As soon as we began talking they started screaming hungry for food and attention. I brought them in my office and ran and got them some cat food from the local gas station. They seemed pretty sure that they wanted to food but not sure how to eat it ... before long they had ate almost a whole can of wet food. They are currently in my home. They love people and attention, get along fine with other cats as well as dogs. They have been great about using the litter box (but right now they also like to spend time playing in it).
Meer is an adorable short haired black female. She was named Meer because she likes to stand up on her back legs to survey her surroundings just like a little black Meerkat. She is very playful, active and lovable. Kat (also known as Fluff) is a long haired black female and is just as fun-loving as her sister. Both girls have been living in foster care with dogs and other cats.
Meer and Kat's foster parents feel these girls have been through a lot together and they would like to see them adopted as a pair.
Meer and Kat are FeLV/FIV tested and negative, vaccinated and dewormed. They will be spayed as part of their adoption.
