About Gus- Barn Cat

  • Species: Cat
  • Rescue ID: kk
  • General Color: Cream
  • Housetrained: Yes
04/16/2005 Gus is one of our barn cats who really needs to find a safe barn home.

You see, Gus was part of our trap-neuter-release program. Our intentions were to release him back to his familiar environment after he was neutered. When the veterinarian first saw Gus, he was in very bad shape. We weren't even sure if we would be able to neuter him or if he would even make it through the surgery.

Once Gus was under anesthesia, we realized that recently he had been hit by a car. He had a deep wound that went so far down you could see his skull and his one side of his jaw was very swollen. The vet stitched his wound on his head and we did neuter him.

Gus is now living inside recovering and anxiously awaiting his new barn home where he will be safe from traffic. As you can see by his pictures his wound is healing and he is doing much better. The pictures were taken a week after we trapped him.

Gus is estimated to be about a year old and is a handsome long haired buff boy. He is now neutered, vaccinated and negative for FeLV and FIV.

Please help him find his safe home where he will never have to worry about being hit by a car again.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
