Dominick and Dreyfus are miniature donkeys who have been beloved pets of an elderly lady, who now sadly is no longer aware that they exist. There are also 4 miniature horses available for adoption, Zelda, Ziggy, Zachariah and Zucchini. (Please see separate listings.)

Dominick and Dreyfus are now 16 years old and are in wonderful health and condition. Do not be misled by their ages! Minis typically live very long lives, often well into their 40s and there are even cases on record of minis living into their 50's. These minis receive regular care from both the vet and the farrier. They are strictly pets and have never had any real training. They are extremely friendly and will come running for treats and attention.

Dominick and Dreyfus were purchased as yearlings and have always been together, so they must be adopted as a pair. They were pastured with the miniature horses for many years and did fine, though they were bossed around by the horses somewhat. About a year ago, they were moved into a separate pasture with a sheep who had recently lost her companion, and now they are bossed around by that sheep! They are sweet and docile fellows who will make you smile with their occasional loud heehaws when they have something on their minds!.They are looking for a loving home which will be permanent - they may never be sold or given away elsewhere. Should there ever be a problem in keeping them, they must be returned to the daughter of their owner, who will accept them back at any time.

Vet, farrier and personal references will be required, in addition to a pre-adoption visit to your farm. Transport of the donkeys to your farm will be provided without charge.

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
