Demetrius (about 6 months old) and his best friend Devon were recently rescued from the streets of Philadelphia. Their owner did not feel that they could afford to spay/neuter their female cats, but then they quickly learned that they could not properly care for the many kittens born to those females! Eventually the kittens were put outside to fend for themselves, and several were killed on the road. Devon and Demetrius were lucky enough to be scooped up and brought into a safe foster home where they now wait for the perfect home.

Demetrius is a BEAUTIFUL semi-long hair orange cat with one extra toe on each front paw. He has some physical features of the Maine Coon breed and is friendly, laid back and just gorgeous. Demetrius is so sweet tempered his rescuer was able to call him over to her on the busy street in Philly and just plunk him into the carrier. He seems to really enjoy the company of his buddy Devon and would be thrilled if the two of them could go to the same home. When they were reunited after their spay/neuter surgery Devon could not stop head-butting her big orange friend and purring like a motorboat! Demetrius seemed just as glad to see his much smaller friend.

Demetrius is neutered, FeLV/FIV neg, vaccinated and ready for a home. His ideal home would include Devon.<

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
