This beautiful cat was left behind when her owner moved away. After weeks in the basement of the building a neighbor took her home to a highly stressful house with 4 other cats and 2 dogs. The new owners didn't seem to notice that Whiskey needed vet care after all of the time she spent in the basement and her health continued to decline. When she was so weak she could no longer stand, Whiskey was finally turned over to The Cat Shack.

Whiskey required intensive treatment, including a blood transfusion and weeks of supportive care. We are thrilled to say that she has slowly recovered from her terrible experience and would love to find a home with an owner that will never let her suffer like that again!

Whiskey is timid at first but very loving and enjoys petting and handling. She should do fine with friendly cats but would not do well with aggressive cats or dogs. Her new owners will need to be sure to monitor for the first few months that she is moving into a new home to be sure she settles in well and her health continues to improve.

The Cat Shack would greatly appreciate any donations toward Whiskey's treatment while she was recovering. All donations are tax deductible and will be used toward our rescued animal's vet care.

Special Needs: This beautiful cat was in liver failure when she arrived at the Cat Shack. She received intensive treatment and is recovering quite well, but will need to have attentive owners to be sure her recovery continues.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
