1/27/2013 Eleanor was found after being rolled by a car.  She was emaciated and dirty from struggling to live outside, but luckily she was not too badly injured from the close-call with the car.  The people that found her brought her isndie for a few days but they were not able to keep her themselves and couldn't afford vet care so she was turned over to rescue.

Eleanor has been vet checked, x-rayed, had bloodwork done and was tesed for FeLV/FIV (Neg/Neg), vaccinated and dewormed.  Our vets feel that she did not suffer long term damage from the car so she just needs time to recover from her difficult time outside.   Right now she is eating great and just loving the opportunity to be inside a warm foster home.  It may turn out that being hit by a car saved this little friendly cat's life!

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $100 adoption donation!
