In some cases we assist pet owners or rescuers who are adopting out their pet directly from their home by listing the pet for them on our pet list web page. In these cases you will deal directly with the pet's owner. Contact information for these "adopt from owner" pets will be provided. In cases of direct adoptions from an owner, the terms of adoption will be dictated by the owner, not The Cat Shack.

Honey is a sweet, spayed female who is about 9-10 years old.  She's an indoor-outdoor cat with claws who is quite the independent miss.  She loves to find unexpected cuddling places. . .a basket, a piece of paper left on the floor, a corner spot.  She loves her chow, too, so should be fed just once a day or she becomes quite the "hunka-munka."  Her best friend is Puff, who is also seeking a home.  Both cats were originally rescues from the streets of north Philadelphia when our son was in college.  We have loved and enjoyed both of them, and now find ourselves away from home more than we are there, and both cats are quite people-oriented.  Honey (and Puff) need human companionship that we're not here to offer.  We will supply a month's worth of food and will give their new owner bowls and Honey's brush for her beautiful long hair.  Our deadline for finding a new home is January 1, so we hope someone will want Honey as their new housemate.
