" Hello
I am hoping you can help to direct me in the right direction, about 4 months ago a stray kitten moved into one of my dog pens with one of my dogs.
At that time the kitten was so small he buddied up with the dog and shared his food and shelter. When I discovered the kitten he was about 9 weeks old and I figured he would be easy to find a home for, I caught him, vetted him and brought him inside, he turned out to be a cryptorchid he has been altered is FeLuk and FIV negative and using a litterbox.
He is very sweet and human friendly but 3 of my dogs want to eat him, he has been living in a large crate and is almost 7 months old approx currently.
It has become apparent I do not have the skills for cat adoption. I tried to make him an outdoor cat but he was terrified and hid in a neighbors shed until I lured him out with food and recaught him.
So now he is back in the large dog crate and starving for attention....I have not found any rescues that are able to take him, having done rescue myself I understand being full.
In the right hands this kitten we call Ferris, might have a better shot at an indoor home.
I do not want him to go to a shelter, but he has no fear of my dogs and I am worried he maybe hurt ....
If you can offer any help or direction I would be most grateful, this kitten has little quality of life living in a crate.

Thanks for any help you might offer.

Sharon

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
