Looking for a new best friend and companion? Meet Shirley! This affectionate kitty loves attention and will be a lap cat. She has been waiting FAR too long in foster care for no good reason at all and hopes YOU are that special person she has been looking for.

Shirley is a dark tortoiseshell and is slightly on the plump side. She is happy and active and has occasional bouts of the "feline crazies." She often enjoys sitting high up in a cat tree, watching what's going on in the world. She is in excellent health and has never had any health issues. She is, of course, spayed, fully vaccinated and negative for feline leukemia and FIV.

Shirley is six years old and has been adopted twice before, along with her sister, Laverne. They have had very bad luck because both times they lost their home through no faults of their own. Their people had serious personal problems and Shirley and Laverne were the innocent victims of that.

Although they have always been together, Shirley and Laverne are willing to now go their separate ways. Shirley is very affectionate and is more interested in attention from humans than interactions with other cats. The same can also be said for Laverne. So, although adoption together would be great, it is not a necessity. They have been living with multiple other cats in foster care and get along with most of them without being buddy-buddy with any of them. They lived with dogs in a previous home so should re-acclimate to a cat-friendly dog without difficulty.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
