12/22/2014 UPDATE!  Poor Creamsicle now renamed "Oliver" is sadly
being returned to foster care.  Seems he is not getting along with the
family dog.

Oliver gets along well with children and other cats and is actually a very
affectionate Lap kitty.

He is now approx 5 yrs old, neutered, and current with vaccines.

10/4/10 - Creamsicle was originally found as a stray, craving attention and food from neighbors.  He is known as the "cool" cat of the neighborhood; as he would walk right up to anyone, affectionately rub against their legs and hold conversations with them.

Creamsicle has been in foster care since 9/29/10 and is adjusting well as an indoor cat, enjoying the comfort of blankets and beds, and making full use of sunny windowsills. He is a lovable lap cat and can be quite the talker if no one pays any attention to him.  Make no mistake, he will still talk to you even if you do pay attention to him

He is very easy to handle and purrs immediately when being petted.  He has excellent litterbox manners, is current with vaccines, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Update: 12/25/2010: Creamsicle has really taken to being an indoor cat. Where he was once very scrawny and bony at the time we took him in,  he has filled out nicely and become quite healthy. He craves attention, becoming very upset when he's left alone. He's also very playful and enjoys the company of other cats. As he has a background as a stray, his play with both humans and other cats can get a little rough, but we think that can be trained out of him. We also don't think he's gotten used to his heavier size yet, which also leads to some roughness when playing with smaller cats.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
