Ray, named after Ray Charles, was found circling in a cornfield in a frigid cold rainstorm one Sunday morning this past January.  Ray then laid down by the road hunched over with mucous oozing from both eyes and nose as the rain soaked him.  A good Sumartin had enough compassion to scoop him up into a carrier, and called a Cat Shack Volunteer.  He was then rushed to Perkiomen Animal Hospital for emergency care and made a full recovery after receiving fluids & antibiotics.

Unfortunately, Ray's eyes were too far gone, had ruptured, and were recently removed due to threat of infection.  I'm happy to report Ray now leads a perfectly happy life and is truly an amazing survivor.  Ray loves to be close to you or on your lap as he purrs and constantly kneads with his front
paws.

Ray also loves to play with his dangling feather toy with a bell and his favorite toy is his mooing cow toy which he swats around the room.

Ray is estimated to be around 4yrs old, is current with vaccines, and has tested negative for FIV & FeLV.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
