Edward (aka Eddie) and his siblings came to The Cat Shack from a shelter in Philadelphia. These guys were born to a mom cat who's owner could not keep them. They were rescued just 24 hours before they were scheduled to be euthanized. The kittens were very sick with upper respiratory illnesses. After being rescued, they were all taken to the vet and, with the exception of one, have been nursed back to health. Sadly, one passed away from an incurable illness. But we are happy to report that the remaining three siblings have all been adopted into loving homes!
But, Edward (5 months old) has a severe digestive problem called a prolapsed rectum. If left untreated, he will be unable to eliminate stools and as a result, severe illness will develop. It is a very painful condition for him. When you pick him up he cries with pain. He's had three operations so far from two different veterinarians, with no improvement. He requires one final surgery to fix his problem.
Edward has such a great personality, is a real lover, and is the sweetest little guy.
If you could find it in your heart to help out in any small way with Edward's medical bills, which are already over $1000 and growing, he and The Cat Shack would be very grateful. We above all want this wonderful little kitty to have a chance at a pain free life with a forever home. PLEASE HELP EDWARD! The Cat Shack is offering two great fundraisers to help Edward. Or you may make a donation directly to him and mail it to The Cat Shack, PO Box 950, Trexlertown, PA 18087.
Since Edwards final surgery he is doing great! He is happy and healthy, he loves to play and run. I think he knows he is pain free now and he is taking advatage of it. Edward has a terrific personality and is the sweetest boy.
The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA. The first step in adoption is to...
