Scruffy is a full-figured, solid black, senior lady who isn't asking for much. She simply wants to find a relaxing home with comfy beds, tasty food and a person who will enjoy petting her and giving her good head rubs! Scruffy will be perfectly happy to be an only cat. She has lived all of her life with other cats and gets along with them, but feels no particular need for feline companionship.

Scruffy was rescued by a kind couple along with a number of other cats when she was much younger and brought inside to live. She had previously been spayed and ear-tipped by someone else, but had extremely severe dental disease when her new owners took her in. All but two of her teeth had to be pulled. Scruffy recovered well from losing her teeth. She eats both canned and dry food, though has a very strong preference for canned food. And now she is down to just one tooth!

Unfortunately, the couple who took Scruffy in divorced. Alll of their kitties needed to find new homes so Scruffy came into Cat Shack foster care.

Scruffy enjoys being petted as she lays sprawled out on a comfy cat bed and will rub up against your legs at times looking for attention. She will occasionally swat with a paw, usually when you are pulling your hand away from petting her. Any caring adult can easily learn how to avoid this behavior, but it does mean that Scruffy is not a good match for a home with children.

Please consider Scruffy if you would like to have a calm and quiet companion. Scruffy is hoping to find her very own special person with whom to share her golden years.

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
