Meet Amy!  Amy was courtesy listed at the Cat Shack, but found a home before she entered the rescue.  Sadly though, her owner of 4 years passed away unexpectedly, and now we are helping Amy find a new forever home.

Amy is friendly and talkative.  She is declawed, but has lived with 3 other "clawed" cats, so should be fine in a house with either.  Amy is very bonded with her former housemate, Harley (also listed) and we would like to keep them together if at all possible.

Amy, like many declawed cats, is not fond of the feeling of cat litter on her sensative feet, so will pee on a pee pad or towel right next to the litterbox.  This just requires an owner who will be a bit creative with the litter box and give her a place right next to it to do her thing.  She is very consistent wtih going RIGHT next to the box.  Please do not let this discourage you from adopting her.  She's worth a teeny bit of extra effort to put a pee pad or towel down for her.

Amy is a bit sad right now, as she's just lost her owner and now her home, but is taking it all in stride and will make a wonderful companion for her new family.  Please consider giving Amy (and her buddy Harley) a new start at your house.

** More pictures to come as Amy settles in to our adoption center at Dog Town in New Britain.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
