This very sweet and handsome fellow was found in the Victory Valley Camp - Zionsville vicinity on 9/13/09. He had obviously been outside on his own for quite some time and does not know how to hunt as he was completely emaciated. It took quite a bit of coaxing to get him to start to eat again, but he is fortunately now on the mend and gaining weight rapidly. He weighed only 6.5 pounds when rescued and 16 days later is already up to 9 pounds. Lenny is a very tall cat and a healthy weight for him is probably 14 or 15 pounds.

Lenny was clearly near the end of the road and did not need to be trapped - he came to his rescuer with just a little coaxing. He was already neutered when rescued and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. He had a severe parasite infestation which has now been fully eliminated and he has received his distemper and rabies vaccines. He is ready to go to a caring owner who will pamper him in an indoor-only home for the rest of his life.

Lenny has excellent litterbox manners and is doing well rooming with another cat. He very much enjoys human attention and can be picked up and held. He is definitely on the quiet side, but perhaps he will become more active as his recuperation from his near starvation continues. Please consider taking this appealing fellow into your home and heart.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
