This gorgeous guy is looking for a new forever home.  Pi came to The Cat Shack in June of 2020 after being found under a shed and almost losing his leg due to a bad infection.  His leg was saved and he lived in a foster home until he recovered.  Pi needed a quiet household and was soon adopted by a young couple.  They added a female kitten, who Pi got along with, but once they added a child to their family, things changed. Pi's human sibling loved him and would chase him, and he became very stressed.  Wanting what is best for Pi, his family is hoping to give him a more peaceful, stressfree life.  Here's what his Mom had to say about him:

"He gets very nervous and anxious in loud and active situations and he goes on the defensive. He thrives in nice and calm environments, with no kids or other pets he really shows how loving he truly is. He likes to cuddle but only with his person, but he doesn’t really know how to cuddle so he’ll either step all over you or try to lay around you. He needs time to get comfortable. He loves food and treats, he will eat all day if you let him. He loves the mice toys, laser toy, and anywhere nice to hide. I call him my Garfield cause he is very lazy and chunky. He’s currently on a diet recommended by his vet."

Update Jan. 2023:

Pi is a character- he is a big boy & makes his presence known.  He has a variety of facial expressions & seems to "pose" for the camera.  He is playful but he really enjoys taking naps in the sun too.

Since being back at the cat shack we have noticed that Pi gets overexcited at times & can get a little sassy. He seems to know what he wants & prefers attention on his own terms.

For this reason, we believe an ideal home for Pi would be with an experienced owner who understands his need for space at times.  We think he will do best in a quiet, adult only home.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
