This 5-year-old (in Sept 2020) super sweet, affectionate gal is a black & white tuxie with four
white “socks” and a tiny white mustache.
Years ago, Emma was taken in as a stray kitten by an elderly gent who recently suffered a
stroke. His sister then took her in but—just 4 months later—found that she, too, was having
health issues and was unable to care for Emma. Her daughter (an old friend of mine) asked if I
could take her as an emergency foster placement, which I did.
This kitty has been through some tough situations so it’s been fun pulling back the layers and
getting her to engage in life again! When she first came she just slept in a corner—all the time.
I couldn’t engage her in play, get her to use a scratcher or cat tree, go out on the balcony—or
even temp her with treats. But as I continued to go to her and show affection, she started to
trust and began to come out more and more on her own. It was as though she didn’t think she
deserved much. Now, her brain is turned “back on” (catnip helped!) and she is enjoying simple
life pleasures—maybe for the first time.

She doesn’t bite or scratch and has zero aggression, so would likely be fine with kind children
and/or other pets. That said, I believe her PURFECT home is one with a middle-aged couple or
family as she tends to be cautious.
Finally, she really enjoys the fresh air of an open window and has no problem being picked up.
She is a touch overweight, but generally prefers dry food over wet. She makes little poops that
don’t seem to smell. Easiest foster I’ve ever had. She currently resides in CHALFONT, PA.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated and FIV/FeLV-negative.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
