I am looking for someone who is looking to provide a home to a great cat – have a look at the pictures.
He was a stray in my neighborhood but is one of the friendliest cats I have ever seen and we seem to have befriended each other.
He walks right up and talks to you and wants to sit in your lap.
He is a lap cat / couch potato – does not play a whole lot but loves to keep you company – loves to lay on his back and have his chest/belly scratched.
He is not bothered by other cats (2 other strays in the neighborhood a lot less friendly than him) and is not bothered by our dog.
He uses the litter box.
He is a big boy – about 14.5 lb – he likes to eat and loves treats
We have taken him to the vet and had him checked out:
- Vet guesses he is about 2 to 3 yrs old
- Generally in very good physical condition
- Did have an ear infection which we have treated and is gone
o Note the right ear is deformed a bit probably due to prior ear infections
- He got his rabies shot
- He got his first distemper
- He got his first worming
- We had him tested:
o He is negative for Feline Leukemia
o He is POSITIVE for Feline Aids anti body – this means he needs to be the only cat in the house or with only cats that are also positive for this.
§ Vet indicates this does not prevent a normal life for the cat , do need to watch for secondary infections and probably shortens the lifespan by a few yrs
§ Note this is a cat only disease and cannot be transmitted to people or other animals
- He needs to be neutered – I am willing to help with that costs
My sons and wife are allergic to cats therefore I cannot keep him but he is such a great cat I wanted to try to find a home for him before we take him to a shelter (will ensure it is a no kill shelter).
My son named the cat “KIT” and he seems to be starting to answer to it.
So – if you are interested or know someone who might be, please pass this along and let me know.
THANKS
