Georgie is one of the Core Creek Colony - she came to The Cat Shack through a huge TNR effort to help Core Creek with their population of approxiamately 300 cats!  She showed a lot of promise as an indoor kitty and was fostered instead of being released after her spay. She has already made great strides in her foster home! She's very curious about people and loves to play. Georgia loves head scratches and sitting next to you. She's a gorgeous cat who appears black but has dark chocolate tones to much of her fur. Her green eyes are very expressive. If you want to adopt this fun kitty, please fill out an application in the link below!

UPDATE: Georgia continues to make great progress with her socialization and is ready to find her forever home! She knows her name, knows the word "no" and greets you happily when she sees you. She has blossomed into a wonderful cat and will be a great companion.  She is great with polite dogs and lives in harmony with three large dogs and another young cat, Picassa, in her foster home.  She gets along great with Picassa and her foster mom thinks that she would likely be good with many other cats as she has an easy-going personality but is up for playing with young cats like Picassa. She does seem happier with a feline buddy than she was alone. She and Picassa could be adopted together, or separately if need be as they get along very well but are not closely bonded.

Foster mom says: "I can't say enough good things about Georgia. She's sweet, very interactive and interested in people, but she gives you your "personal space" and would rather sit next to you than in your lap. She's easy to handle and even though she doesn't enjoy being picked up right now, you can safely hold her if you need to. I pick her up daily. She goes into a carrier fairly easily and is good about car rides even if she isn't thrilled about it. Overall she is well-behaved and easy-going."

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
