In some cases we assist pet owners or rescuers who are adopting out their pet directly from their home by listing the pet for them on our pet list web page.
In these cases you will deal directly with the pet's owner. Contact information for these "adopt from owner" pets will be provided.
In cases of direct adoptions from an owner, the terms of adoption will be dictated by the owner, not The Cat Shack.

I'm writing because I have two adult cats that I need to remove from my home. I have tried finding them homes with trustworthy people, but have been unsuccessful.  Believe me, I've even had people come over who were interested, but it's gotten nowhere. My daughter's eczema is worsening and after a recent vacation to a cat free home it became evident that they are exacerbating it. I desperately need our two cats rehomed. I don't really want to take them to a kill shelter and none of the no kill shelters are accepting. Neither came from the Cat Shack. I'm so desperate to get them out while still having confidence that they will be well cared for, that I'm totally willing to give a donation to help cover their expense. I’m very willing to provide some support.

I have a 5 year old black neutered cat named Nero. He's very affectionate and laid back. He warms up quickly and is good with other cats and children.  I have a 3 year old spayed tortoiseshell cat named Mina. She's also very affectionate, but a typical tortoiseshell in personality. She is sassy and assertive with strangers, but incredibly tolerant and patient with our daughter. For that reason, she would be a very hard sell in a shelter setting, but would do great if fostered. Both are due for their shots this month, which I have absolutely no problem getting done and providing documentation for. They’ve always been up to date on their shots and got to the Alburtis Vet Clinic.
They've never been tested for Feline Leukemia.  They have a vet appointment in a week where I can have that done, along with their shots. Neither are declawed, both are fixed. They're both patient with my daughter. Mina can get defensive with strangers if she feels threatened/cornered.  With our family she is incredibly affectionate and tolerant of our daughter.   Beyond what she should be really.  Nero is very laid back and hides if he feels uncomfortable, but after new people have arrived he'll come out within a half hour to socialize.  He's also very affectionate.  Thank you so much for whatever you can do.

If the Cat Shack would be willing to foster them, I would be forever in debt and appreciative as I can’t stand the idea of my adult cats sitting in a kill shelter until their time is up.  Thanks for your time.

UPDATE:They went to the vet today and are now up to date on vaccines. The FeLV test was done in house and came back negative for both. She said they are in great shape and their teeth are perfect.
