Bill used to live outside with a few other feral cats.  He was neutered and well taken care of by his caretaker, but she decided he was WAY to friendly to live outside, so she contacted The Cat Shack for help.  When a volunteer visited Bill, we agreed, and quickly moved Bill to an inside foster home.

Bill is a sweet, melow, middle aged cat who wants nothing more than love and petting from his human friends.  Bill gets along with the cats and dogs in his foster home, and would likely fit well into any family.  After spending a few years outside, Bill is content to be inside in a warm home, with a comfy bed to sleep in, and people who love him.

Bill has a chronic herpes infection, but it is controlled with the intranasal felocell calicci rhinotracheitis vaccine and daily lysine added to his food.  He is currently being monitored for possible administration of the vaccine everye 3 months.  The goal is to stretch this out to an annual vaccine.  Most cats have been exposed to the herpes virus at a young age and do not develop a chronic condition.  Bill can be around other cats (his foster mother has numerous cats), but the vet recommended that if you do not believe your cats have been exposed or are worried about transmission, they can be administered the intranasal vaccine yearly to prevent any type of transmission.  Bill will live a happy normal life with the appropriate supplement and attention to his condition.

Don't miss your chance to have a cat of a lifetime.  He is extemely interactive and personable.  If you're looking for a sweet, loving boy who is past all the kitten craziness, but still loves to be with you, Bill is your cat!

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
