About Little Teddy | |
|
Update: 4/30/12 Teddy is doing so much better than just a few short months ago! He now weighs over 7 lbs and has lots of playful energy! He is such a little snuggle boy too! Teddy has been re-examined and great news...his lungs are now clear. Unfortunately he is testing faint positive for FIV, but we have high hopes that when he is retested in a few months that he might then be negative. Even if he does not we "love" him no matter what! Many cats with FIV still live very normal, happy and healthy long lives, and we know how much this little guy is a fighter.
1/2/12 "Teddy" is an amazing little boy who ended up saving himself and his little buddies who were in big trouble with Upper Respiratory Infections living at a small engine repair shop.
Teddy was relentless for affection, and followed a customer to the car on a rainy miserable night. Knowing they would all probably not survive without medical attention, they were swept up the next day and started on medication.
Teddy is estimated to be approx 5 months old, current with vaccines, and has tested Negative for Felv. Teddy will be neutered once he's old enough as part of the adoption agreement.
Shortly after we took Little Teddy in, unfortunately he spiked a high fever for several days and ended up in intensive care with pneumonia; the good news is after many days of fluids and several antibiotics, Little Teddy is a new man and doing great.
The bad news is we now have a $1500 vet bill so we've created a ChipIN for Teddy in which anyone who would be so kind to donate to help with his medical expenses can click on the following link:

Special Needs: FIV+
The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA. The first step in adoption is to...
