Adopted 08/03/14!

Cute little semi-feral cat, will come fairly close to foster Mom. Perfect barn cat candidate. Aggie is very attached to a male buff tabby named Arby, and wants to be adopted together with him!

Aggie is one of our feral (unsocialized) cats who is anxiously waiting for adoption to a safe barn home. She is spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.  Feral cats are fearful of people (in varying degrees), usually because they were born outside and never exposed to people at an early age. Some of these cats are able to be petted in time, others never progress that far. They live extremely happily in barns or other outbuildings and do a great job of providing rodent control for their owners. Even those who do not want to be petted learn the feeding schedule and tend to come running at mealtime! These cats are not aggressive towards humans. Their fear of humans causes them to move or run away from people, not come towards them, so they pose no danger to anyone. Requirements for adopting barn cats include having a barn or other building as shelter, providing a steady supply of food and water, and rabies vaccines and other veterinary care, as needed. Barns need to be in locations that we feel are reasonably safe from traffic. Barn cats are always adopted in pairs, at a minimum, except for occasional times when a cat is available who does not like other cats. Friendly cats are occasionally available as barn cats when they are not suitable for life as a house cat for some reason. We have a never-ending need for good barn homes for shy and feral cats. Please fill out our barn cat application if you would like to help some cats in need, and enjoy their presence and rodent control services in return.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
