12/1/15 - Maizy is currently staying at our Cat Shack adoption area at Dog Town in Colmar, PA, where she is having fun and getting more and more social with people and other cats.  Stop by and see her if you're in the area.

1/22/2015: Maizy has been with us for some time and is a pleasant and happy tuxedo. She's very personable and affectionate and LOVES attention and petting- she's also unique in that she loves to reciprocate your love by giving kisses to your hands as you pet her.

She loves to sit next to you on the couch or on your lap, but you have to let her come to you- she gets a little squirmy and resistant when you pick her up, so be gentle and slow when you do it or just let her come to you.

She gets along alright with our other cats, but she's not very playful or affectionate with them, preferring to tolerate them from a distance as she hangs out in a window. She seems to view the playful attempts by other cats as a little too aggressive so she tends to avoid them, but will love playing with you through the use of toys and string.

She would probably do best as an only cat who gets her owners all to herself, or maybe with another older cat who might be less playful or less aggressive than a playful youth or kitten.

Background info: This little petite gal named "Maizy" was rescued from the streets of small local town with fear that she would be hit by a car.  Maizy is very affectionate, loves attention, and is quite vocal.

She's estimated to be 4 years old, and loves to play.  Maizy is spayed, current with vaccines, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
