UPDATE: 6/23/2016: Chance and his buddy Stormy were returned by their adopter since she is moving in with her boyfriend who is allergic. They need a foster home ASAP so please consider fostering this super cute pair. Chance is the sweetest cat. He is extremely shy at first, however once he's comfortable is very loving. He is a lap cat and loves to snuggle. He is also playful and loves cat nip and laser toys. He loves other cats and has a good personality for all ages of cats. Due to being shy he would probably be best in a home without small children or dogs.
UPDATE 2/5/11: Chance is doing great! He is very steady on his feet with only an occasional fall when he is playing around with his cat friends! He walks a bit bow legged, but he is normal in every other way! Chance does not do well with children or dogs (except smaller quiet dogs), so he would do best in a home with adults or teens and another cat to "buddy" with : ) He is very affectionate once he gets to know you, but he is shy in the beginning.
Chance was rescued from the outdoors with his 3 siblings. Chance didn't move much at all and had to be bottle fed. The vets were unsure and thought he might have to be euthanized. But with a little time and physical therapy, Chance is able to walk and run! He does have a mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which is a malformation of the "balance center" of his brain. He has a normal life expectancy and does everything on his own like any other cat----he just falls occasionally on an uneven surface or if he turns to quick! He is sooooooooo cute!!! Between being shy and being unsteady, he was afraid to move. But now after some TLC from his Cat Shack family, he is running and playing with the other kittens!!!!
Chance has been neutered, dewormed, Frontlined, tested neg for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on vaccines.
Special Needs: Mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia
The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA. The first step in adoption is to...
