This cat is available for adoption directly from her rescuer.  In some cases we assist pet owners or rescuers who are adopting out their pet directly from their home by listing the pet for them on our pet list web page. In these cases you will deal directly with the pet's owner. Contact information for these "adopt from owner" pets will be provided. In cases of direct adoptions from an owner, the terms of adoption will be dictated by the owner, not The Cat Shack.

Toby's rescuers tell us the following about him:

Toby is a 1 year-old domesticated cat who desperately needs a family.  Toby is short-haired, black with four white socks and a white bib & nose.  He is sweet and affectionate, enjoys attention and our kids love him.

Toby is like a "dog-cat" - in the meaning that, he comes over whenever someone goes in the back yard looking for attention.  And, if I'm doing things here and there he follows me and lays down a few feet away - then follows me again when I move.   Fortunately, we have a fenced yeard and he pretty much stays in the yard lounging around.  He doesn't even chase the birds and such.  Toby is very friendly, and always comes trotting over to whomever will go out in the back yard.  He's been playing with toys the past few day (just got him a few)...

As of June 2010, Toby has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies, distemper and worms.  Toby came to us about 6 months ago and we have helped him get this far.  And my dog barks at him and it doesn't bother him at all - makes me wonder if he had a dog in his past life?

We can't keep "Toby" due to severe allergies, and now are searching for a family where Toby can be happy.  Toby has also been Leukemia tested (negative). He comes with a carrier and 9 lives.

The first step to adoption is to fill out an on-line application.
