TACA is available for adoption directly from his rescuers.  In some cases we assist pet owners or rescuers who are adopting out their pet directly from their home by listing the pet for them on our pet list web page. In these cases you will deal directly with the pet's owner. Contact information for these "adopt from owner" pets will be provided. In cases of direct adoptions from an owner, the terms of adoption will be dictated by the owner, not The Cat Shack.

Here is Taca's story as related by her owner's son:

My 88-year-old mother broke her hip and will be unable to keep her cat where she must now live.  My mom suffers from mild/moderate dementia and her cat "Taca" means everything to her.  Unfortunately, we have no option but to try to find a good home for Taca immediately as I must vacate my mother's assisted living unit where Taca is now so that my mom can go into a nursing home. This all has to happen immediately.
My wife cannot be around cats for more than a few minutes without suffering severe allergic reactions, so our house is not an option.

"Taca" is approximately 15 years old.  She is all black with long hair.  Taca has lived apart from other cats for at least the last 8 years.  She has never been outside.  I am relatively certain that Taca is up to date on shots, because we were required to prove that for her to be at the Assisted Living Facility.  Taca is de-clawed, (NOT MY DOING!!!), and does not like to be handled.

The first step to adoption is to fill out an on-line application.
