About FeLV+ Family URGENT

  • Status: Available for Adoption (adoption info)
  • Species: Cat
  • Rescue ID: C090196
The Cat Shack has found a temporary alternative to euthanasia for two young Feline Leukemia (FeLV+) female cats and their three FeLV+ kittens thanks to the offer of short term foster space by two caring volunteers, Danielle and Dave.  We now need your help to spread the word about these beautiful cats so they can find true homes.

These friendly, beautiful cats have been exposed to FeLV because their former owners did not care for them properly, allowing them to roam outside in a dangerous location.  Even with their FeLV+ diagnosis, they can still have a full life with proper care.  They must not be allowed to mingle with Feline leukemia negative cats, but they would be perfect only cats, companions to other FeLV+ cats or dogs.  Humans can not contract FeLV.

The two adult female cats are now spayed and all the cats and kittens are vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas.  They are friendly house-cats that use the litterbox and have lived in a home with a large dog.  Please help these cats have a chance!  All are currently healthy.

The available cats include:

Lacey (pictured above) - a beautiful semi-longhaired female with grey and orange markings.  She is beautiful! 1-2 years old.
Pearl - a sleek, lovely short haired black female, 1-2 years old.

The kittens are:
Silver - an adorable dilute torti female with lots of grey and orange
Monique - a black and orange female torti with unique markings on her face
Jet - a solid black short haired male kitten

Special Needs: FeLV+

Please note: The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step to adoption is to fill out an on -line application.

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract.

This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
