Adoptions are restricted to a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA and young kittens must go to a home with another playful cat or to a home that already has a feline playmate- kittens are NEVER adopted out as only-cats in the home.

Onyx and her brother, Ebonyare 2 of 3 kittens that were trapped during a MacFund TNR in November of 2016. They were too little to spay/neuter (smallest was estimated at 8-10 weeks old) and released so trapper tried to foster them, but she only had them a week or so. Due to circumstances that were no fault of the kittens, she decided the best thing was to have them early spay/neutered at "For Cat's Only" Veterinary Clinic and re-release them - at the time there wasn't anyone else in a position to take semi-friendly kittens. However, when the vet at For Cat's Only saw them and leaned they would be TNRed they offered to keep them to socialize because they really felt that they were too young to put back outside. One of the techs at the vet's office adopted the 3rd kitten. They kept them for about 6 weeks and got them semi-social, and transferred them to The Cat Shack for further foster care.

Ebony, the male, is larger than his sister, and friendly....but extremely protective of Onyx.  Onyx is still skittish and needs a bit more socialization experience...but will allow you to pet her.

Both have been spayed or neutered and had their rabies vaccines.

UPDATE:  Onyx and her brother have been rehomed as barn cats.

Adopting from The Cat Shack

The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.

The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
